Then they get voted on and the person with the least votes is out that week and the person with the most is safe next week. Till you have one author standing who wins! What do you win? A snazzy graphic and a $10 GC to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You don't even need to be a GREAT writer!

Hey guys! So, I just found out that the awesome song that Ryan and Marissa declare "their song" from the last episode of The OC is a cover of Alphaville's "Forver Young" by a band called Youth Group. The song is supposed to be on The OC Mix Tape 5 coming out in November! In the meantime, you guys should check out Youth Group's album Skeleton Jar, which rocks! The band is on tour with  Death Cab For Cutie right now too!!!!

Title: “California Crossing”
Fandom: The O.C.
Characters: Seth/Ryan/Summer/Marissa
Word Count: 100
Notes: I feel like I've betrayed my fandom! Nevertheless, Logan eventually shows up and I gacked the basketball game from Betty and Veronica. I also wrote an alternate version where Veronica helped Logan decorate as they reminisced, but it got a little too depressing...

( Neptune vs. Newport )

Title: "Vampish Vixen"
Fandom: Veronica Mars/The O.C.
Characters: Logan/Summer
Word Count: 100
Notes: I tried including a subtle commentary on Aaron’s parenting, but just couldn’t get the wording right.

( Logan's simply irresistible )

Title: "X-Rated Xerox"
Fandoms: Veronica Mars/The O.C.
Characters: Veronica/Marissa
Word Count: 100
Notes: Taking a break from writing full-fledged fic (which is grueling work!) and finally decided to try finishing the series up... Horrible procrastinator, I know

( There's something about Veronica )

Title: "Yearnful Youths"
Fandoms: Veronica Mars/The O.C.
Characters: Duncan/Seth
Word Count: 100
Notes: They've got more in common than you'd think.

( Drunken confessional )

Title: "Ultimate Understanding"
Fandoms: Veronica Mars/The O.C.
Characters: Weevil/Ryan
Word Count: 100
Notes: Francis Capra (great-grandson to Frank Capra, who directed It's a Wonderful Life and other classics) actually played Z, Ryan's buddy back in his juvie days.

( Fish out of water )

Title: "Keelworthy Kiss"
Characters: Veronica/Logan
Word Count: 100
Notes: This is it... I've got to stop somewhere! Check my userinfo for the chronological order!

( Accidentally in love )

my first post!

My first post in this community, exactly 100 words. My orange will go to Summer, because she's the only one that stays sane all the time. And btw, this kinda disses some of my favorite SS moments, but oh well...

Summer isn’t a total love expert, but she knows what love is.

Love isn’t crying about the boy who sailed away.

Love isn’t having a huge climatic kiss in the rain, even if it is upside-down.

Love isn’t kissing on top of the kissing booth.

Love isn’t dressing up as Wonder Woman for a holiday present.

Love is wrapping your arms around Seth Cohen and closing your eyes, knowing that he isn’t going to leave you again or you’ll seriously kick his ass and make him pay for the rest of his life.

Summer smiles. This is definitely love.

The challenge with no deadline! Love.
Better late than never, since this one is still open.

Lindsay knows it’s not love. Not yet, at any rate – it can’t be, they’ve barely started dating. It’s only a crush. Love – love is for grown-ups and sappy movies.

Lust, on the other hand, is something she’s just discovered. Well, maybe not just discovered, but it’s taken on proportions hitherto unsuspected since Ryan entered the picture.

No, it’s not love. But when Ryan tells her he’s chosen her sister over her, it tears her in half. And when he asks her to dance, later, she's made whole again.

No, she tells herself, it’s not love. But it feels awfully close.

Orange to Lindsay - there's my girl. Plus, she got dumped by Ryan! Not for long, but still. Poor sweetums.

Title: After The Fall
Fandom: The O.C.
Author: Femslashqueen
Rating: PG
Character: Caleb
Archive: Ask me first (aim.to.try@gmail.com)
Spoilers: General season 1 & 2
Written for: the_oc_100 challenge #18 - Love
A/N: A little bit of speculative future angst

Caleb married Julie for love.

Named Julie CEO for love.

Watched Julie take the fall he knew was coming for love.

He hoped Julie understood.

Knew Julie wouldn’t, couldn’t.

But he had to protect her, had to, had no choice.

He had hurt her too much, he couldn’t watch her take the fall, she he let Julie take it instead.

He loved her so much, not only because he had to, because you have to love your children but more because she has blossomed in spite of everything into a remarkable woman.

He hopes Kirsten knows this, knows she doesn’t.

Orange to my Kiki.

i hope im doing this right...
this is my first community post...i hope im doing this right...im sorry if i mess it all up

Twelve year ago Ryan would have told you Love was putting his mother to bed, after he checked for her pulse, and removed the needle from her arm.

Eight years ago Love meant carrying Marissa from an alley in TJ, and calling Sandy to get her deranged friend out of jail after he was picked up for buying crack.

Only seven years ago he confessed his Love to Theresa by leaving the Cohens and moving to Chino with her, with a child that wasn’t his.

Seven years ago, Love was Lindsey.

Today, Love is still Lindsey, but also their daughter.

tips and comments would be nice...so i can improve...thanks

I haven't done one of these in a long time.
He says I love you. He doesn’t mean it. He means I’ll never forgive you, I’ll never forget. What he really means when he says I love you is don’t come back, don’t keep ruining my life, don’t keep doing this to me. When he says I love you now, he says it to someone else and wishes it had always been her those words were for. What he really means when he says I love you is I hate you. I hate you for what you are, for what you’ve done to me, for what you do to yourself.

Orange to Dawn for being so screwed up.

Lost virginity
The orange goes to Lindsay, awesome gal that she is...

Lindsay was sure it wasn't love when she lost her virginity. He was a good looking boy, a decent enough candidate for the experiment of kissing and groping on top of a bed.

When he asked, "Condom?" she just nodded.

When he entered her she thought, "So this is what it feels like."

Two days later, when she told the boy he'd been her first, he showed no interest and her heart hardened, a little like cement.

But the other day she felt it crack…when a boy named Ryan stood on her doorstep and told her he liked her.

Lindsay used to know what love was.

Love was her mother's arms, her concerned face whenever Lindsay hinted at being upset. It was stories her mother made up at bedtime when she was younger.

Suddenly, love was a lie.

Her mother's face hurts her, Ryan's words aren't good enough, Seth's jokes sting.

Yet when Kirsten hugs her for the first time, Lindsay begins to think maybe love is real after all. It's present in Seth's words, Kirsten's arms, Sandy's tentative smile. It's present in her mother's imploring eyes.

Lindsay can't forgive her mother yet, but she'll never stop loving her.
100 words. Orange to Lindsay.

Posting for the "Love" Challenge. 100 words so my orange goes to Ryan.

Ryan studied the label on his gift.
“With much love from Sandy and Kirsten.”

What was love anyway?

After sixteen years of wondering, he thought he finally knew.

Love was accepting a troubled boy into your home.
Love was a store bought pie for a brother in jail.
Love was a fourth stocking at Chrismukkah.

Love was a lecture in the pool house.
Love was bringing him bagels and coffee.
Love was letting him go and
Love was welcoming him back.

As he watched them laugh and joke, tease and smile, Ryan finally knew what it meant to be loved.

One hundred words, orange to Seth for being so nice to Lindsay this week.

Sons love their mothers, so when his mother gets drunk and smashes the mug he made her, Ryan loves her. Trey says it’s ‘tough love’ when he breaks Ryan’s arm. TV says that love is helping others, so when Marissa says she loves him he tries to be everything she needs until he’s miserable. He figures that’s right, because love is always miserable. But then he looks at Kirsten and Sandy, and they’re in love but they’re happy. So when he’s with Marissa again and gets that familiar sick feeling in his stomach, he thinks maybe it’s not love.

Love challenge
Exactly 100. Orange to Kirsten because she is awesome.

Love means a lot of things for Sandy Cohen.
Love is getting fired from your job in the name of a man you despise.
Love is staying up until midnight defending him.
Love is going against your values to protect those that mean the most to you.
Love is convincing people to tell the truth for the sake of everyone else.
Love is allowing your wife, the woman who means most to you, lock herself in a closet.

But most of all, for Sandy, love is patience. He's waited and he still hasn't gotten Kirsten back. But he understands, he always has. It's the key to any relationship.

She doesn't know what she's missing.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Ryan thought his life was complicated before he left Chino. Complicated, however, doesn't even begin to describe Newport. At this point, he actually hopes that the Cohens don't adopt him, because that would make both of his girlfriends his aunts. Not to mention that a woman he almost slept with could have been his grandmother.

So yeah, it's...complicated. And bizarre, and quite frustrating. But looking at the others' faces as they ring in Christmas with eggnog and pizza and garish lighting displays, he realizes that for the first time, he's among family. And he wouldn't have it any other way.

so, this is my first time posting. i dont know how you guys judge this, but according to microsoft word, this is 100 wds. so my orange goes to poor lindsay. id love to give one to kirsten, too, but shes gotten plenty already. plus lindsey invented the yamma-claus, and you just cant top that.

What Love Could Be
Love was still having faith in his father. It was spending years caring for his mother, knowing that given time Trey would be a part of his life. It was shared first experiences with Theresa.

Love was Seth's companionship, Sandy's advice, and Kirsten's rare hugs, which all made him feel as though he finally belonged somewhere.

Love with Marissa had been passionate, devouring, controlling. But each day Lindsay taught him there could be another love. One that filled some place that had always been empty inside him, one of strength and stability, and perhaps if he worked at it, forever.

And my orange goes to Lindsay cause I'm liking her more and more, and of all the girls on the show she could have most been me in HS.
